Watch your kid’s imagination come to life in the TBE Summer Celebration Kids Adventure Zone, sponsored by NightLight Pediatric Urgent Care. In the Kids Adventure Zone, your children will have access to all sorts of fun activities such as a bounce house, face painting, a gaming zone and event a NASA space exhibit. It’s the perfect time to start planning for college as a high school junior or senior. All attendees who register for this event will be entered for a chance to win up to $1000 in scholarships. Business Resiliency and Disaster Preparedness Boot Camp

The Small Business Resiliency and Disaster Preparedness Boot Camp will be held on Saturday. June 8, 2019, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Room 330 A, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).

The goal of this boot camp is to prepare minority small business owners with useful tools for business continuity in the face of disaster.  Business owners will receive expert advice in the following core competencies and small group discussion in each session:

  • Disaster preparedness – contingency planning specific to disruptions.
  • E-Commerce – Creating and strengthening their e-commerce tools.
  • Finance –Capitalizing on recovery.
  • Marketing – how to market before, during and after a disruption.
